1. Gather friends and family

Find a cozy space to work like your kitchen, living room or perhaps a nearby coffee shop. Make sure you have Internet access and power for your computer.

  2. Start Making

Warm up with a beginner activity, such as Remix Websites with the X-Ray Goggles:

    • Recommended time: 5 minutes
    • Visit your favorite website. Peek under the hood and see how it works. Remix the site and make it your own. Congratulations — you are now a hacker!
  3. Dive a little deeper

If you're feeling good, try out an intermediate activity: Hack the Web with Thimble

    • Recommended time: 10 minutes
    • Learn a little HTML to remix and create your very own website in minutes. Publish and tag your project with #makerparty to share it with the world.
  4. Level up your skills

Keep exploring and trying out new things. For example, start playing with web video in this intermediate activity: Play with Popcorn Maker

    • Recommended time: 15 minutes
    • Make interactive videos by dragging and dropping content from the web (images, videos, tweets and more!). Learn about telling stories online.
  5. Keep Making

Remember to hit "Publish" in the top right corner of any Webmaker Make, and you'll get a link to share with your friends and family. Tag your work with #makerparty so the community of webmakers can enjoy what you've done.
  6. After your Party

Tell us how your Kitchen Party went. We love hearing your stories. You can even remix this page to show what you made!

If you need help at any time, please contact us . We have a team of volunteers and staff members dedicated to helping people just like you.
