Steps for the Activity
-
Divide the group into a sensible number of teams. Ask participants not to talk until you say GO!
-
Tell learners to sort themselves by how much experience they have making things digitally. Give them just 2 minutes.
-
The person with the most digital making experience should be at the front of the line, and the person with the least amount of experience should be at the back of the line.
-
Tell the participants to remember how they judged experience! As a facilitator understanding how each team defines digital making experience will help you focus your teaching.
Discussion
At the end, ask each team how they judged experience and talk about their process. Have participants look around so that when you do group work in the future they can mix and match skills.
